What is 3D Scanning/Imaging
Acquiring a 3D image or a 3D scan is similar to taking a digital picture. In addition to the 2D color information typically captured with a digital camera we are able to extract depth (3D) information from the scene. The 3D data can then be loaded onto a computer to be used in a variety of industries and applications. ShapeStart has developed several 3D imaging / 3D scanning technologies including, 3D laser scanning, white light 3D scanning, and structured light 3D scanning.
